Man accused of repeatedly breaking into Disneyland to steal iPhones
A man was arrested in late November after police said he snuck into Disneyland and was found with a bag containing phones, a SIM card key, portable chargers and a faraday bag. According to WDW News Todaythe thefts were thought to be part of an organized pickpocketing ring.
A woman was able to recover her stolen iPhone 14. The arrested man was “one of a group of people who had come to Disney’s attention during past issues,” the report said.
After an iPhone is stolen, a couple receives threats
It’s not at all uncommon for an iPhone to get stolen, or for the owner to then locate it on Find My iPhone. But that usually doesn’t translate into threats from the thief.
But it happened in Florida, reports Fox 35. A woman’s phone was stolen from a mall, at which point she and her husband started tracking it with Find My iPhone.
When the woman received a new phone, she began to receive threats that “it is going to be auctioned off on the black market with your personal information. Use your identity for loans and black market sales. They will use even your photos of your children, pornography for the purpose of extortion.”

A group of thieves stole more than $100,000 from the Apple Store in Beavercreek, Ohio on January 23. Police released an update on the case:
iPhone evidence leads to guilty plea for child pornography
A Missouri man has pleaded guilty to federal charges of receiving and distributing child pornography, after he was convicted of viewing the materials through an iPhone app.
According to an ICE press release, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and can serve up to 20 years in federal prison.
Two people involved in thefts of iPhones and iPads PA wanted
Police in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania are investigating a series of thefts of iPhones and iPads from AT&T and T-Mobile stores in early January. Fox 43 reports that the two suspects stole three iPhone 13s, four Apple iPhone 14s and two Apple iPads, all display items.
MacBook, Louis Vuitton bag, dog collar stolen from van
A Briton’s van was stolen while he was attending a therapy session, and with it his MacBook, an expensive Louis Vuitton bag and a dog collar that belonged to a beloved former pet.
According to Echothe 27-year-old was returning from a therapy session when he noticed the van was missing.
iPad helps track ‘scammer’ who stole car
A man who lied to hotel workers about losing his valet ticket was able to retrieve keys and steal a car, but was eventually found thanks to an iPad that had been left there.
Hometown Source explains that the car was tracked from the hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota, to Minneapolis and later to St. Paul. When the suspect saw the police, he threw the keys in a snowdrift.
He was arrested and charged with auto theft, and also had three outstanding warrants, including one for a parole violation.
Woman wanted for Apple Watch theft
A Texas woman is wanted for stealing two Apple Watches from a Best Buy in the Laredo area. According to LMT onlinethe woman was seen on surveillance video opening Apple Watch boxes, taking out the watches and taking them out of the store without paying.
The woman also has three felony warrants pending.
‘Phantom Pooper’ accused of stealing iPad
A thief who local police have dubbed “the Phantom Pooper” is accused of breaking into an administrative office at a Washington state community center and stealing an iPad and a laptop.
KIRO 7 reports that the thief allegedly defecated at the scene, hence the nickname, but the suspect also logged into the iPad and computer with his personal account.
