A new building at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital is the first healthcare facility in the UK built using artificial intelligence (AI) technology from Buildots of Israel to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Buildots’ technology automatically analyzes data captured on site via 360-degree helmet-mounted cameras.
The platform then generates realistic progress reports supported by visuals, providing managers and stakeholders with accurate and objective data and analysis, leading to improved efficiency.
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s new 22,650 square meter BEACH building (birth, emergency and intensive care, children’s health), built by Integrated Health Projects to high sustainability standards, is part of a National Health Service (NHS) transformation of Dorset University Hospitals (UHD).

“By adopting Buildots smart technology, we are able to use AI and 3D model vision to efficiently track construction progress against design and schedule to ensure we stay on track. on the right track,” said Bruce Preston, IHP project manager.
Steve Killen, director of transformation at UHD, said the NHS uses public funds, “and the Buildots technology is a great example of how we are using cutting-edge technology to help deliver the best value for money for the taxpayer”.
The BEACH building is expected to open in early 2025.
“The new Royal Bournemouth Hospital building is incredibly complex, with purpose-built facilities for maternity and children’s units, as well as emergency and critical care,” said Aviv Leibovici, product manager at Buildots. .
“We are proud that Buildots enables this complex project to be carried out in the most efficient way.”
