Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Plus Other Cast Members To Be Aged For Robert Zemeckis’ Upcoming Miramax Movie here, an adaptation of Richard McGuire’s graphic novel that takes place in a single room and follows its inhabitants for many years. This will be accomplished using a new AI-based generative tool called Metaphysic Live.
On Tuesday, artificial intelligence company Metaphysic, led by Tom Graham, revealed that it had entered into a strategic partnership with CAA to develop generative AI tools and services for talent, although details of the deal have not been revealed. In a statement, Joanna Popper, director of metaverse at CAA, said the agency looks forward to working with Metaphysic because its technology “combined with their ethical approach and thought leadership” could “open up an incredible opportunity for the entertainment industry and beyond”. .”
Perhaps most recognized as the talent behind @DeepTomCruise or the deepfakes featured on America’s Got Talentthe tech company says its new tool Metaphysic Live can be used to create “high-resolution, photorealistic face swaps and aging effects in addition to live, real-time actor performances without the need for further compositing work or visual effects”.
Plans are for Metaphysic Live to be used “extensively” on Zemeckis’ film to generate face replacements and de-aging. “I’ve always been drawn to technology that helps me tell a story. With here, the film simply wouldn’t work without our actors seamlessly transforming into younger versions of themselves. Metaphysic’s AI tools do just that, in ways that were previously impossible,” Zemeckis said in a statement. “Having tested every face replacement and de-aging technology available today, Metaphysic is clearly the world leader in quality AI content and the perfect choice for this incredibly empowering and emotional film.”
Starring Hanks and Wright, as well as Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly, the film is set to be released in 2024 in the United States by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
“It’s amazing to see Metaphysic’s AI-generated content seamlessly integrated into a live on-set shoot. Actors can even use the technology as a ‘mirror for young people’ – testing their acting choices real time,” said the film’s production VFX supervisor, Kevin Baillie.
To work on the film, Metaphysic co-founder Chris Ume will serve as AI supervisor and Chief Innovation Officer Jo Plaete will serve as Metaphysic VFX supervisor.
CEO and co-founder of Metaphysic, Thomas Graham, said in a statement: “With the support of CAA and working on projects like hereMetaphysic demonstrates the transformative power of hyperrealistic AI to shape the future of entertainment and eventually help people create immersive, photorealistic AI-generated content while owning and controlling their data.
