An artificial intelligence system that scans used cars in seconds for worn tires, fluid leaks, underbody damage and other defects, is to be used by CarMax, the United States’ largest auto retailer. United States.
Tel Aviv-based UVeye uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, sensor fusion and high-speed camera systems to inspect vehicles.
The company claims it’s much more accurate than time-consuming manual inspections.
It has signed a license agreement with CarMax, which will use its technology to provide condition reports to dealers who purchase vehicles from its online auctions.
The company said it plans to use UVeye’s stations to check vehicle exteriors, undercarriage components and tires to produce online reports that include high-resolution photos.

UVeye, which was established in 2016, initially created its drive-through inspection stations for security purposes, including detecting weapons and contraband at international borders.
CarMax, which has invested in UVeye since 2021, has already installed some of its inspection stations in several of its wholesale outlets, and will continue to expand them across its network.
