Last month, Samsung rolled out the Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update for the Galaxy A13 in the international market, and it comes with the November 2022 security patch. Today, the company is rolling out the update Android 13 with the January 2023 security patch on the device in the United States (SM-A135U1).
One UI 5.0 update based on Android 13 for Galaxy A13 carrier unlocked 4G variant comes with firmware release A135U1UEU2BWA2. It also brings the January 2023 security patch which fixes more than fifty security issues. The update is currently rolling out to AT&T, Bluegrass, Cellular South, Comcast, Cricket, Nextech, US Cellular, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile devices.
If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy A13 4G in the US, your device should automatically prompt you to get the Android 13 update. But if not, you can check for the update manually by accessing Settings » Software update and clicking Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the firmware from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A13 in March 2022 with Android 12 on board. The smartphone is placed in Samsung’s quarterly security update schedule. This means that the phone will receive a security update every three months instead of one every month. The Galaxy A13 will most likely get Android 14 when it arrives later this year.

One UI 5.0 update based on Android 13 brings lots of new features and refreshed UI design to Galaxy A13. It features an updated UI design with larger notification icons, new widgets, easier lock screen customization, and better animations. All stock apps, including Camera, Calendar, My Files, Samsung Internet and Samsung Keyboard, have been updated with an improved design and more features.
Samsung replaced Bixby Routines with Modes & Routines. The built-in gallery, photo editor and video editor have also been improved. There’s a new design for Device Care, faster performance, and improved privacy and security. You can see all the important features in the video below.
