Al-Qabas, Kuwait, January 26

Despite the many defeats and setbacks suffered by armed fundamentalist movements across the Arab world, their retrograde mindset continues to linger in the minds of many Muslims, especially Arabs. These movements are antithetical to joy, to human rights, to the dignity of women, to education and to the modern world in general. Abdullah Bin Bakheet, an acclaimed Saudi novelist, critic and screenwriter, has welcomed Al-Azhar University’s refusal to declare the Islamic State an “apostate”, despite the fact that many intellectuals had protested the decision of the religious institution, accusing it of complicity with the enemies of Islam. However, after careful consideration, he realized that Al-Azhar had made the right choice. He found no reason to excommunicate ISIS based on its actions and decisions. According to him, excommunicating ISIS would amount to excommunicating all those who stood in the pulpit, preaching in the name of religion during the Islamic revival that swept through Muslim countries. ISIS had simply realized and practiced what these voices were preaching, but they were too eager to implement it and announced the mobilization before they had gathered the necessary force, which led to the world throwing themselves at them and eventually defeat them. Bin Bakheet goes on to say that he was not one of those who wished for the demise of ISIS, but rather that the world should provide them with a space in which they could establish their own state and implement the sharia that all Islamic political organizations had promised. , and which the Muslim peoples were impatiently awaiting. The Taliban succeeded in forming a state of true Islam, which was long overdue. They seized power in Afghanistan after expelling American troops. No country was now in a position to overthrow them. Therefore, the Taliban had no excuse for hesitating to apply Sharia, as prominent preachers had wanted, according to their interpretations of Sharia. This application was to bring development, prosperity and a gift to the Afghan people and the world. The Taliban began by preventing women from receiving a university education, leaving them without a place in public or private life. As a result, they are destined to become nannies for generations, even if they are educated. Their main duties are to obey their husbands, make their hearts happy and protect their money. Women are not allowed to enter their homes, give alms, leave the house, or wear clothes of their choice without their husband’s permission. It is their “kingdom” of which they are supposed to be proud. Indeed, the Islamists have created the society they so desperately wanted and wanted. Today, the world is eagerly waiting to see if the Afghan experiment succeeds in producing computers and semiconductors, producing novelists and scientists, and advancing the causes of progress and civilization. . They promised us a noble society once in power. So when will we see the Taliban announce new scientific inventions or, better yet, a new iPhone? – Ahmed Al-Sarraf (translated by Asaf Zilberfarb)
